My Background
With over forty years of hands‑on experience in the construction industry, I bring the depth of a fully trained bricklayer and the versatility of a general builder who has worked from the ground up on countless projects. Over the decades I’ve built houses, extensions, conversions and refurbishments, carried out groundworks, installed structural steel, completed roofing and carpentry, and handled a wide range of repairs. I work independently, maintaining full control over quality, but I also have reliable electricians, plumbers, plasterers, and specialist trades I can call on when needed. My approach has always been rooted in precision: I work methodically, mathematically, and with the patience required to ensure mistakes simply don’t happen. I specialise in quality over quantity, focusing on one‑off bespoke projects where craftsmanship truly matters, and I pride myself on working up to a standard rather than down to a price. I enjoy collaborating with self‑builders and would like to become more involved in offering practical, on‑site guidance to help them achieve the best possible results. I liaise closely with architects, engineers, planners and building control, ensuring every stage of a project is properly coordinated. Clients describe me as reliable, flexible, amiable and open to ideas — qualities that underpin the way I work and the results I deliver.
